Case Management Services

The HIV, AIDS & Prevention CareLine is a patient and provider hotline operated by Patient Advocate Foundation designed to provide assistance to patients who have been diagnosed with either HIV or AIDS or are being treated with a HIV prevention medication and are seeking professional insurance assistance to reduce or eliminate barriers. The CareLine is staffed by a team of skilled case managers including those with a nursing and social work background who will provide individualized service to patients, their caregivers and providers who need information and/or assistance with the following:

  • Assist with medical debt crisis or financial barriers interrupting care
  • Navigation through the reimbursement system, including initial interpretation of the patient's benefit language
  • Provide direct appeals assistance for insurance denials
  • Provide educational resources, including disease specific literature, managed care information and financial resource information
  • Provide referrals and linkage to appropriate educational resources
  • Provide clinical trials education and conduct clinical trials screening
  • Facilitate referrals to appropriate co-payment programs
  • Network patients to all known local, state and/or national resources for financial assistance
  • Provide case management services to uninsured patients, ensuring access to care and enrollment into Medicaid and/or charity care programs, when appropriate.
